Valero Energy Corporation is a producer of conventional gasolines, distillates, jet fuel, asphalt, petrochemicals, lubricants and other refined products in both America and internationally. The company operated 17 refineries at the end of December 31, 2007. Valero Energy also produces reformulated gasoline mixture, California Air Resources Board (CARB) gasolines, ultra low sulfur diesel, and oxygenates. The retail side of Valero Energy operates 5,800 retail gasoline stores under the brand names Valero, Diamond Shamrock, Shamrock, Ultramar, and Beacon.
