Aeropostale, Inc. is an operator of mall-based specialty retail of casual apparel and accessories. The Company designs, markets, and sells clothing catered to the teenager market under the brand names Aeropostale, Aero, and 87. Aeropostale, Inc. also has a subsidiary company, Jimmy 'Z Surf Co., a contemporary lifestyle apparel store which targets the young men and women between the ages of 18 to 25. As of November 1, 2008, Aeropostale operated a total of 905 stores, which consists of 863 Aeropostale stores in 48 states and Puerto Rico, 28 Aeropostale stores in Canada, and 14 Jimmy 'Z stores in 11 states. For the first thirty nine weeks in the fiscal 2008 year, Aerpostale, Inc. opened 77 new Aeropostale stores and remodeled or renovated 18 existing Aeropostale stores. The capital expenditures related to the construction of these stores and also for information technology enhancements and other initiatives will be approximately $80 million.
